Literature Text

Monsters don't sleep under the bed,
monsters sleep inside your head.
Waiting for the night to tear you apart,
hoping for the fight to rip out your heart.
Sleeping inside the one who's blue,
I'm the monster living amoung you.

When I'm awake in the midst of day,
I'll snicker and laugh as I take you away.
I'll show the place of freedom and fun,
Till I've gained your trust for the long run.

I'll bid farewell and adue,
Till Next time when I come back for you.
You never know when I might arise,
And that's what makes it a fun surprise~

When I come back for the meal
You won't stand a chance against the ordeal
As you'll be pinned to that wall there,
Even though it's not fair~

But I don't play by rules or regulations
I'm more interested in your blood circulation.
A little snip here and a bucket there.
Your life's hanging by a thread

After you die I'll hide you away,
So no one can see you as you decay.
Then I'll go away, and back to sleep,
Deep in my lair, without a peep.

No witness survived, their on the ground.
Wonder why they were left scattered around,
Either way this never happened it's all not real
No one can prove they saw the ordeal.

As I said and I'm sure you can tell,
No ones there when I'm around,
Like I was never awake,
or more likely, that it was all faked.

As you can see im the monster in town,
Making everyone sick and everyone frown.
But I don't live under your bed,
I'm the creature,

in.

your.

head.

Incredible poem! Reminds me so much of a monster from my book series. I'll have to credit inspiration to this poem for when I write his lines. Both have a lot of common. Instant favorite!
